Week 11 - 23/9/2019

In this week lesson, we began setting up and installing for our exhibition. I was given many tasks like taking behind the scene shots on my camera. Using the trimmer and cutting the black Alchemy posters for Rui. I also help Froggy and Daniel put up some of the posters and measure the space of the walls. I was also in charge of the iPads and make sure everyone has their files on the iPads and what to present. And also with Kevin, Tim and Ellie to mount the iPads onto the walls.
Class Working on the Exhibition

On Thursday we have our exhibition started as me and my family arrived at around 6pm and greet our guest in the exhibition but also did a practice speech before we present with my group.  I also did a few photos at the exhibition for Joel and then talk to a few guests about Baby Makes 3. Then presentation started as our group was first presented in front of a full audience that was not just our classmates and was a bit nervous but the presentation turned out great and I thought we did well.

The next day I arrived early to help deinstall the exhibition and help take down some posters and the prints on the walls and glass doors. I also unmount the iPads on the wall with a screwdriver as I wish had a power drill instead as unmounting the iPads took longer than expected as the screws were very tight but got the job done.  And help Lily took the seats back to the fourth floor in the learning space room. And after that, we cleaned up and making sure all the equipment were packed away and finished deinstalling the exhibition.

Week 10 - 16/9/2019

In this week lesson, we first began learning about the rules of using the Gallery by Victoria on what can we use and what we should not do.

Putting posters around Deakin
After that, we head to class and help set up for the exhibition for next Thursday, our group then discuss what we present and any refinements we have to make.

After that, my group except me had to cut out black crosses for Rui to put on the wall and I volunteer to help Angela group with the keychains and we got 92 in chains and an extra 12 that has no chain.

Next, we began putting posters up for the exhibition around Deakin and I got posters up on LA Building and the Business School Building and some extra on the FA buildings.

After that I decided to stay behind and help the exhibition group with cutting some prints, packing the chains and assist Rui, Froggyand Daniel anyway I can like with some photoshop skills, the posters, recalling who did what to help exhibition group and just be an assistant to Rui.

Week 9 - 9/9/2019

In this week lesson, we did our final presentation and we were second-last to go. While everyone was doing their presentation, I was assigned to take photos of the in-class presentation and then send to the Co-Lab group in their dropbox and when we presented, I asked Kyle if he take photos of my group when we did our presentation.

When we did our presentation and explain what Baby Makes 3 is about and what we design for them, the feedback was positive but was somethings we needed to change. We did need put our stylescape or some of the introduction of the presentation, there was the concern of the flags used in our design but was something the clients wanted, Joel was against our heart logo but Maria liked it, some of the Instagram posts could be changed and where the text and logo is position in our promotional items. I also have to explain briefly I was over-explaining my design for the banners as talked too long as was explaining everything.

After the presentation, we headed to Carrington Health and did our last Client Meeting and the clients loved our design and thought we got what they were looking for and they have the logo for the equal aspect, colours and since they are a medical brand the heart represented them well. After the interview, we would send them the files in all format for them.

We were in a conflict as the clients love our design and did not need change but Maria and Joel wants us to change some aspects of our design and were in a conflict but change some aspects of our designs so when we submitted we took the feedback and remove some stuff from our presentation and updated some of the design but couldn't get the Instagram posts to change in time.

After that, we discussed with Daniel and send our files to him but were having trouble sending it to him so we send our Google Drive link to him so he could get the files. I talk with Daniel what we should do for the exhibition and would do decoration from preparing them and hanging the decorations, but could change on Monday.

Week 8 - 2/9/2019

In this week lesson, we started the presentation on all our design works for our brands. Before that, I came to class early with Daniel and help set up the photoshoot as we both set up the backdrop and flash kit and we also bring the chairs and a table to the exhibition hall for the video interview with each group.

My group was presenting later in the day so we had to take the photos for the missing people first from the Co-Lab group and about 6 more people but unfortunately two more were coming late so I was put in charge of getting the photos for the two missing people while Joel, Venetia, and Rui had to go and do the video interview.

While waiting for the missing people for their headshots, I was taking photos and videos of the in-class progress and on everyone's presentation as I did for 10-20 seconds each.

When it was my group's turn, Ellie took over for photos for my group as we presented what we design for Baby Makes 3. It turned out and the feedback was very positive as we got our design to be in one style instead of multiple that did not correspond with one another. We just have to make minor changes from the text in our logo position, the website, add a white circle behind the logo in our Facebook banner,  and on our promotional items.

After that, I managed to get the headshots for Neil and Mai and after that I packed the backdrop and flash and we return the equipment to MRC on exact time then I went with my group to do the video interview and felt we did decently but some parts we botched but we managed to get it done. After that, I handed my SD cards to Rui so he and the Co-Lab use the photos and video.

After that, I had a meeting with our group and refine our design works and we're hoping to get an interview on Tuesday or Wednesday but we managed to get it on Monday at 4pm and decided to do the client meeting after our presentation on Monday.

Week 7 - 26/8/2019

In this week our group got feedback from Maria on all the graphic elements we did for Baby Makes 3. We then incorporate all the feedback we got from her and began working with our given task.

During the class, I assisted Joel and Rui with taking everyone's headshot in class but I also helped them set up a backdrop in class and lending my tripod to Rui and Joel so they can work using photography. I was the majority of the time holding a flash kit while everyone was doing their headshots to make everyone headshots dramatic and add shadows.

I also took behind the scene photos of this lesson to see everyone working and shots of us doing the headshots.

I was then appointed to accompany Venetia, Joel, and Rui to Geelong so we can do the photographs and video interview. We could not get the backdrop and flash kit in Geelong so we decided to rent ourselves for the day.  I also took more behind the scene photos of our day in Geelong of each group working and how we set up the headshots and the task we were doing.

After that, I work on some banners with our groups and agreed on a photograph banner with text and flags and I came with 8 banners but with different effects so giving the group on 16 banners and we decided on which banner we should do. We have a meeting on all our new and updated work and discuss what we like or what should be improved on so everything is well aligned together.

Since I the only student in the class that is able to borrow some of the equipment from MRC, I went and book a backdrop and flash kit for next Monday class by request of Joel and Rui so can work on more photographs.

Week 6 - 19/8/2019

In this week lesson, we did another presentation showing what we got from our client meeting and showcase our logos we created. All four of us created different logos and the feedback we got was variant. The feedback I got from my logo is that my logos are sharp and hard looking so refine by making softer and organic shapes but liked the concept of it.

I made with Daniel and the Design Co-Lab group and volunteer with photography and decorating and also lending Rui and Joel Chen my equipment and assist them with photography as much as they need me.

We decided to recreate our logo with the feedback and use elements form our logos to make this brand new one. Melissa decided to create the logo and we all voted for the one logo that appeals to us the most and which represent Baby Makes 3 the best.

We also came up with different taglines and voted for the one we like most. We are still in consideration of the taglines.

I was then put in charge of doing research on equality for both man and women or husband and wife so we can include facts and statistic on our Facebook post and posters.

I was also in charge of making a Facebook banner so I created five to give different options as shown below. I used a square shape to create patterns in the banner with a white background so it doesn't feel busy. I made sure the logo and tagline were the main focus of the banner which.

Intra-trimester break - 12/8/2019

In our intra-trimester break we decided to do our 2nd client meeting on Monday, uncertainty other Kevin couldn't make it due to work. So us three were going to the interview but we at a meeting one hour earlier to discuss the presentation with Philip being our speaker while Melissa taking notes and I will be recording the interview as well as taking notes and add comments if needed.

We got to Carrington Health and have our meeting and discussed the client's needs and a tagline they would like as their first tagline was long and wanted to be simple and thought should be "Get Even" as something to say be equals in a relationship. We presented 3 stylescaps with mine and Kevin's was the first with logos and images that represent love, equality and belonging with using cool colours. They like the logo used in our stylescape but they thought to be too traditional. In the 3rd stylescape they liked very much for the colours used and the style is simple and something that's not tradition as more unique.

After the interview, we did logo research and did thumbnail sketches for the logo and also a 4 digital developed logos just to get one logo done.
