Week 4 - 29/7/2019

In today's lesson, we began the presentation for our first assignment which is a group presentation. We watch others present their presentation showing the client summary, positioning statement, concept strategies, personas, and each members stylescapes. 

I found which groups did a fascinating presentation on how they approach their client's needs and what they did with the stylescapes. And at the end of each presentation, there was a lot of criticism and feedback for everybody including my group which was helpful and insightful to improve on.

One criticism we received was our persona as they didn't feel like they were believable as was make-believe and were too generic as we made our persona almost like the perfect person that Baby Makes 3 are looking for.  Our stylescapes wasn't telling the story from the persona personality and what their style is, and on the application we did was also put into question as these things made us have some rethinking.

After the lesson, we decided to do further research and redo our persona and stylescapes from the feedback we receive today. We decided our persona should not be in the same marriage but in different ones and with different cases. Our male persona will have a different occupation from a stock marketer to a tradie and change his personality as well. The female persona we decided to have her be in a same-sex relationship as Baby Makes 3 is targeting all types of relationship.

We also will be researching warm and approachable brands, service, and products that targets couples and stories of people that were to Baby Makes 3 or stories similar on what Baby Makes 3 is trying to do.

Week 3 - 22/7/2019

This week we began learning about style scapes and how to create one. In class, we watch an episode of Visual Aesthetic – Building A Brand, Ep. 4 as watching this design company making a stylescape for a beer brand called Hamilton.

We learned what is needed to create a stylescape with the style and following the client needs and for their audience. We also began planning and putting together our presentation but we all had to finish our stylescape first before we could focus on the presentation.

Me and Kevin P created our second persona as the husband for our Lauren persona name Thomas Smith. We got all the base details about who Thomas is and his background and Kevin P then took over and add in the other information and data of Thomas.

The stylescape I created focuses on the feel and style on what BM3 wants their message trying to spread for our persona. The colours used are to show positivity and happiness in a family colour mood and use what colors would express those emotions. The fonts used are Calibri and Geneva as I felt they contemporary but are fonts that are easy to read and feels friendly. The images are what BM3 are about and what they want out of it with their application which is vibrant and are easy to access and understandable.

And we began creating our presentation and practice the presentation. I am introducing the presentation along with the first three slides and talking about stylescape.

Week 2 - 15/7/2019

This week in class we had a recap of where the other groups are with their project and clients and were insightful. During the class, we did some of the task given to use like the persona profile, define the problem and empathy map as much we can before the interview.

After the class, we went to conduct our interview with our clients. All four of us went to Carrington Health and went to have the interview with our client, Olive, and Anita.  The interview went for 46 minutes and 16 seconds and was very insightful and managed to get a lot of information about the brand and what the client wants. Phillip and Melissa were asking the questions while taking some notes. Kevin. P was taking a lot of notes and I was recording the interview, taking notes and ask some questions and some comments to Olive and Anita.

In three words, they want their brand values to be represented as Fairness, Resonating, and Inclusive. They also have experience with 10,000 couples with their program where they want to focus on parents transitioning to parents and what change when a baby arrives.


For design specs they wanted their logo to be vibrant and show happiness and inclusive but also to challenge gender equality. They also want in the design to include Aboriginal Influence and Photos and to acknowledge the Rainbow, ATSI and Transgender flags.


After the interview, we did the task assign to us. I did the define problem template and empathy map and help with the persona profile with my later teammates. We shared our notes from the interview to help all of us with the task.

Week 1 - 8/7/2019

This on the first lesson of ACG304 - Design And Collaboration I was assigned to a group with Melissa Del Vecchio, Kevin Pathman and Phillip Prastalo and together the four of us are assigned to a group called Baby Makes 3.

Baby Makes 3 is a primary prevention program that seeks to prevent violence before it occurs, by promoting equal and respectful relationships between men and women during the transition to parenthood.

We got to know our teammates and what we specialise or have experience in and assign roles to each other. We look into each others timetable and see when we available and when we are occupied. We decided to do our regular meet up on Monday's as it is when we are all at Deakin at the same time.

In the next few days, we managed to gather information about Baby Makes 3 and research on programs similar to Baby Makes 3 like I gather research from two programs called ParentZone and Relationships Australia Victoria. We worked together and summarise the brief so we could understand better and to establish the client's needs.

We managed to get an interview with the client on next Monday but due to one of our member have a class in the morning, we reschedule the interview on the afternoon so we all could be present and conduct the interview with all four of us.
